Recesstime Ping Pong's home is at Portland's Ping Pong paradise, Pips & Bounce!

This is a rec league. As with all Recesstime activities, some players may be skilled than others but if you're a ranked player or compete at a very high level, this is not the league for you.

Still with us? Ok great! Heres the skinny:
It's a co-ed league, which means you need at least two ladies and two gentlemen on your roster. Teams will play one team match each week which will last about one hour and fifteen minutes.
A team match will consist of the following events:
Two Ladies' Singles
Two Gentlemen's Singles
One Ladies' Doubles
One Gentlemen's Doubles
One Mixed Doubles
Each individual event is a best 2/3 game set to 11 points.
We'll provide paddles (we think they're pretty nice but if you have your own, feel free to bring it along!), three star balls, scoresheets and team shirts.
We'll stick to the ITTF table tennis rules as defined here with a few exceptions to make it recreational (we'll explain those the first week).
Teams will compete in six regular season matches. We'll tally up your team's season record and rank teams for the playoffs which will be the last two weeks of the season.
Players may compete in up to three events in one team match during the regular season and the playoffs. During the regular season if a team is unable to field a full team, that team may use substitutes but if those players win their match, that win will only earn 1/2 a point towards their team's total match points.
As with any and all RSL events, all teams are invited to participate in the end of season tournament to win fun prizes, awards and of course RSL Championship Red Shirts! No substitutions are allowed during the playoffs please keep this in mind when creating your team.

Players registered 10 days before the start of the season will receive their shirts opening day. Players who register after the first week will receive shirts during week 3 of play.  Anyone who registers after the third week of play will not receive shirts.
